just in case you actually read my blog, which is doubtful, some of you may have noticed a lack of new post. i really picked a bad time to start blogging… a month before we move into a new building. so now we have a week left and things are crazy busy but i promise i will return with more frequent blogging at the beginning of march.

im not usually one for sountracks (unless its highschool musical, kidding) but this one has my attention. if you haven’t heard of the book or the recent movie into the wild you must read and /or watch it. its an amazing story of a guy who just isn’t ok with the normal mundane routine of becoming an adult. its probably the best story i’ve every read and somehow identifies with my deepest desires. anywho, enough of that stuff. long story short the book is life changing, the movie is great and the soundtrack is unbelievable! done by eddie vedder, the mastermind behind all that is or better yet all that was pearl jam. the music will resonate with your soul. check it out!

i know its a little early to be getting political on my new blog…ill probably lose some traffic but oh well (who am i kidding i don’t get any traffic) i never thought i’d vote republican again, or at least not for a long time but im really diggin john mccain. ive been a fan of him as a senator and im really getting on board with him as a presidential hopeful. i was a big obama (ps-he’s not a muslim) guy before i left for africa but i may be switching up???did he just say he wasn’t going to vote republican???obama???that means he must not really be a christian??? ok people get over it. but i am saying that i may make the big switch back. im diggin mccain. he’s a good balance in my opinion plus he’s really tough. the guy was a p.o.w for cryin out loud. gotta love a dude like that. what are you guys thinkin?

my good buddy jamie aka goldie is speaking tomorrow night at inside out (sscc youth group). in preparing for his talk we skipped our walk through acts last night and studied 1 samuel 17. as we usually do we had a little help from good ol’ matthew henry. we’ve been using his commentary heavily during our weekly time and last night something he wrote became my hearts battle cry. as we all know david faced goliath with great courage and never doubted the fact that this was a mission of god and that there was no way he was going to be defeated. check out henry’s closing thoughts on this chapter: “go forth to battle with the faith of david, and the powers of darkness shall not stand against you.” don’t really know if anyone else thinks this is killer but i love it and will make this my prayer…go forth to battle with the faith of david, and the powers of darkness shall not stand against me!

goldie doin his run through for his talk…me being super cool!

so part of a my new job is creating video content for children’s ministries. well because of this i got hooked up with a cool computer and some really nice software plus i got to order a new set of monitors. while shopping online last week i stumbled upon the best deal of my life. i found a misprint on a website for a pair of bx5a’s. these are a nice little affordable reference monitor already but due to some bad website maintenance i got these for $150. i know some people will say…you cant really get flat monitors for under $1500 but im happy about my purchase and honestly these little guys sound pretty good for the money!         prs1c-2921051w345.jpg
